Energy Management Consultant : 25-35k Newcastle.
Details of the Post
Energy Management Consultant to join the growing Energy Management Team as we seek to increase our operations across the UK and build on our successful presence in the North East.
The role will involve project management and technical delivery of energy and carbon management services to both private and public sector clients. The candidate will also play a key role in growing this area of business by building excellent client relationships, developing leads and preparing proposals.
The job will be based in Newcastle office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
Help deliver energy efficiency solutions to a variety of clients, including energy audits, carbon management, renewable energy feasibility assessments and energy awareness training. Ensure that technical solutions meet business and client expectations. Support the team in developing new business and writing proposals. Maintain and develop expertise and continue to increase technical breadth. Act as a technical lead on a range of projects and proposals and communicate complex issues to colleagues and clients. Help develop the technical knowledge of less experienced consultants.
Project Management
Manage projects including cost, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of reports, presentations and other deliverables. Review the progress of the project on a regular basis and take responsibility for delivery to client needs. Resolve technical and financial queries through consultation with other team members and financial support functions.
Commercial
Contribute to developing the market in this area, providing technical and business development support as necessary. Increase visibility and promote its reputation in the carbon/energy arena.
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Good communication and client interfacing skills • Able to work under own initiative • Ability to plan own workload and meet deadlines • Strong writing skills for preparing reports and proposals and delivering presentations • Good understanding of legislation and published guidance relating to the energy sectors
Desirable
• Ideally an engineering or energy management background with skills developed in an industrial and / or consultancy background. • Carbon Trust assessor or CT standard assessor • CIBSE Air conditioning inspection experience
