Our client, a Renewable Energy Developer has an immediate requirement for an experienced, dynamic and pro-active Wind Turbine Contract Manager for the procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines for one of their Offshore Wind Farm projects.

The Wind Turbine Contract Manager shall be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the WTG supply and installation contract from contract execution through to handover of the operational wind farm to the operations and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities shall include, but will not be limited to:-

• Day to day management of the wind turbine supply agreement (TSA) (The Contract).
• Day to day management of the service and availability agreement (SAA) (The Service Contract) up to and until it is appropriate to engage a Service and Maintenance Manager into the project team.
• Preparation and communication of contract documentation, scope(s) of work, technical requirements of design requirements and contractual conditions.
• Participate in contractual negotiations where appropriate.
• Review and acceptance of contractors' design, drawings, specifications, project plan, method statements, risk assessments, quality plan and other project documentation.
• Address any technical queries raised by the contractor(s).
• Ensuring the contractor(s), their sub-contractors and agents carry out all activities in a safe and controlled manner in accordance with the project Health and Safety plan.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the WTG Contract Manager will be responsible for the timely and cost effective procurement and installation of the wind turbine generators and associated structures to the offshore site at Redcar.

The Turbine Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of planning, procurement, manufacture and assembly, factory testing, delivery, offshore installation, commissioning and testing of the WTGs and tower structures from contract signature through to handover to the operations and maintenance teams.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
A degree qualified commercial manager with a minimum of 10 years experience of negotiating, managing and administering high value, multi-discipline capital construction projects. Direct experience of wind farm construction projects is preferred but is not essential.

Key Competencies
With an engineering and construction background, the candidate shall demonstrate:-

• A high degree of successfully managing similar contracts within tight economic and programme targets.
• Understanding and experience of the client HSE requirements and obligations under the CM regulations.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• The ability to manage contractors and sub-contractors, including commercial and technical aspects, scheduling and co-ordination of activities.
• Planning, commercial and contractual management experience with working knowledge of software based project management tools.
• Risk identification, management and mitigation experience.
• A good working knowledge of the installation of offshore structures in near shore waters.
• Experience of achieving the highest level of quality control in a manufacturing and assembly process.
• An excellent knowledge of steel fabrication and assembly techniques.
• A high degree of knowledge and experience of the maintenance requirements for mechanical and electrical systems.
