Job description:

Our client is a leading Bio-Energy company operating in the UK and Ireland. The Bio-Energy division installs and operates turnkey commercial and industrial wood energy solutions for clients who are large companies, government organisations, commercial entities and development companies.

Given their rapid growth, they are looking to hire an Operation, maintenance and fuel supply chain Manager for new installations at some of their prestigious projects. In time, this individual could grow to manage the UK arm of the installation team also.



Responsibilities / Projects will include:

Project 1:

  • Monitor the running of the plant remotely and in situ
  • Work with the facilities management team onsite to provide advice and guidance on control and operations strategy
  • Visit the site several times per month to:
    • Carry out routine maintenance tasks
    • Hold operational meetings with the facilities management team
    • Investigate and implement initiatives to optimise efficiency of the plant
    • Manage equipment vendor contracted periodic maintenance
    • Oversee fuel delivery and ash removal processes
    • Coordinate response to unplanned outages

Project 2:

  • Hold operational meetings with the site management team
  • Manage contracted periodic maintenance process
  • Oversee fuel delivery and ash removal process
  • Coordinate response to unplanned outages

New installations:

  • Work as part of the existing installation and maintenance team to assist on new installations, helping with mechanical and electrical installations of biomass boilers from 500KW to 10MW
  • Perform or assist with commissioning tasks

Fuel supply chain:

  • Liaise with existing fuel suppliers in the UK to ensure that fuel is prepared to the quantities and specifications required for current fuel contracts
  • Work to identify new sources of fuel supply to expand the business offering
