Job description:

Project Manager, UK

The Role:

· Project manage the installation and commissioning of companies installations in the UK.

Key responsibilities of the person will include:

  • Manage the design process to ensure that the installations are fit for purpose
  • Manage the consulting engineers to ensure that the tendering process is properly conducted and results in a good selection of prices and potential subcontractors
  • Work with the company lawyers to devise suitable contracts for subcontractors
  • Oversee the contracting process with chosen sub contractors
  • Manage the equipment ordering process
  • Supervise and run the invoicing and cash collection process
  • Manage subcontractors on site to ensure that the work is accomplished on time and on budget
  • Deal with any unforeseen problems on site
  • Report to the MD of Company for the delivery of the project and report on a day to day basis to the main client representative on the site
  • Ensure the installations are ready for commissioning on the due date and manage commissioning so that no liquidiated damages are incurred on any projects.
  • Close out projects successfully and to budgeted profit levels

Charateristics:

· Extremely strong track record of project management or site foreman of site construction projects

· Must have experience on the M&E side, ideally in construction and commissioning of biomass chp and or boiler plant, but at least in large scale boiler and heating plant installation on contract values above £20m

· Strong M&E background with engineering qualifications to degree or diploma standard from a recognised institution

· Must have civils experience also

· Demonstrable track record of “on the job effectiveness”, on time and on budget delivery of large scale projects

· Demonstrable learning and experience in the sector or related sector

· Good with people, fair but strict, not easily influenced. Good experience of managing people

· Flexible, able to multi task, not easily stressed, open to direction

· Numerate and capable with Exel, Microsoft project and other applications

· Knowledge of CAD an advantage
