Job description:

Our client requires two Project Managers, for two forthcoming wind farm construction projects in Eastern England. Site works are expected to take place 2012 to 2013, however the appointment is required immediately in order to include early involvement of the Project Manager in the engineering design and procurement and negotiation of the main contract documents.

The vision of the Construction team withinthe company is to provide the expertise to professionally manage the construction of wind farm projects safely, to a high standard of quality and environmental performance with established commercial arrangements that clearly and fairly assign responsibility and account for risk, and in a manner that enhances public opinion of renewable energy and gives due consideration to all stakeholders.

The Project Manager shall be responsible for the delivery of this vision in relation to their project and shall lead a multi-discipline team of engineering and construction staff to achieve this. The Project Manager shall also collaborate with and support the managers within the development and operations team within the company to ensure the project is constructed in complete compliance with the planning, land and grid requirements and that all operational requirements are integrated into the project design and build.

Candidates should hold a higher education qualification in a relevant engineering discipline related to construction, civil or electrical engineering and have relevant experience  in a similar role. Evidence of ongoing professional development and training (particularly safety training) and references shall be required. Experience and proven knowledge of UK legislation and regulations in relation to infrastructure (including piled foundations) construction, drainage systems, management of lifting operations and safety management of high voltage electrical installations are all desirable.

The roles shall be based in our UK offices Hertfordshire or Gateshead but candidates preferring to be based at other regional offices may be considered) with regular attendance at site.The roles are offered on a full-time permanent contract basis and therefore flexibility to travel and manage construction at other wind farm projects within UK and Ireland in the longer term is required.

The specific responsibilities for the Construction Project Manager are:

* Ensuring effective communication is maintained within the internal team and also with external partners.
* Ensuring the maintenance of the construction quality and environmental plans.
* Implementing the Safety Policy and monitoring the maintenance of the site and project safety documentation.
* Overseeing the control of quality of the works and compliance with the contractual specifications
* Preparing and maintaining the construction budget and producing subsequent forecasts of costs to completion.
* Implementing the management of all designers and consultants to ensure the timely production of all designs, specifications and drawings required for construction of the works including any necessary design of temporary works.
* Leading the construction project team in the required processes with external stakeholders (such as planning, land, grid)
